DAZZLING KILLMEN Face of Collapse
From Skin Graft Records website:
In the three and a half years since Dazzling Killmen first played St. Louis (their hub) at a party I wasn't invited to, their live shows have become so anticipated and precisely compact that spaces have had to cleared of tables and random objects to hold the crowds. Drunken rowdies all crammed together, scream cathartically as the band explodes, the most masculine of men and women fainting, wobbling and bumping with passion and fear. Bassist Darin Gray, usually the center of attention with his cheeky smile, cartoon-like contorting and gymnastic leaps is a monster during these songs, constructing, along with drummer Blake Fleming, seamless rhythms so tight you could bounce a penny off of them. Guitarist / vocalist / muscle man Nick Sakes and guitarist Tim Garrigan create sheets of sound and ropes of melody that wrap around these rhythms. The audience bellows, heads bang, and the few that can actually make space, dance, as the band jerks, stutters and flexes. As the songs progress, the band bends the music just short of the breaking point, creating a frenzy that is always on the verge. Dazzling Killmen's songs are constructed as huge open spaces that need to be crammed with energy-- any energy. Melodies and grooves appear to be stuffed next to others , all bouncing off the walls. They're not linear melodies that arrive predictably in their neat little spaces. Rather there is a center to each song and in this space the band attempts to reach it from different directions. A phrase appears for a moment then vanishes and orbits around the next phrase, hovering and waiting for it's next approach. Sometimes this center is the magnet that holds the whole sheebang together. At other times the center cannot hold and the space collapses. It's during these moments that Dazzling Killmen floor me. Their rapid fire jerks, so precise and measured occur in succession at tremendous velocity. The band, tightly wound and compressed like a brick with phrases in and out from the hub like a roman candle.
The process that has brought the band to this point has included four singles (two on skin graft, two on other very important labels), a live cassette and one previous LP that Nick says he's embarrassed by, but I say it's certainly a decent enough debut. But it was on some French label and no one can find it anyway,so it's a moot point. "Face Of Collapse" was recorded in September of 1993 in Chicago by Steve Albini and comes closest to capturing the density of their lives shows. It is my lifelong dream that you will discard the unnecessary detritus in your life, including your geeky record collections, and grasp toward objects of TRUE VALUE, such as this, to carry down your path to fulfillment.

SO INDIE IT HURTS Roir Rocks! Volume One 2008
I love compilations like this CD which was just released 3 weeks ago. Can't wait for more from ROIR. At one time, ROIR was known as the cassette only label. Times have changed. My only complaint is that I wish they had put more bands on the compilation. But at least you can hear James Chance live. Who else can give you the fucked up no wave blues!
Enjoy!

Wanted!!!
There are a couple of downloads I've been looking for for awhile and hope some of you can help me out.
I'm looking for a copy of the CD compilation Smack My Crack. Back in 1990 when I was toiling away at an indy record store for $5.00 an hour, the goober who worked the afternoon shift snagged a cassette copy of this compilation so I never got to check out the whole tape. I haven't seen a copy anywhere since, except a CD copy on Amazon, and they want money I can't pay for it. All I'm asking for is a download of it. That's it! Can anyone Smack My Crack?
Also am looking for Urgent Fury's 10 inch. I had a copy of this a few years ago and sold it to a friend which I now regret. It was released on clear vinyl. I'm unable to find much info about it online. I think I once saw a copy of it on a blog somewhere but I think it's forever lost. I got it through Mordam Records. It was so much fun ordering hundreds of dollars worth of punk stuff from that distro at my job. I was in charge of making the orders so I could order anything I wanted.
Wants: Urgent Fury 10 inch (a download is fine)

DEUTSCH NEPAL Dystopian Partycollection
Exceptional industrial noise weirdness. I love this band!
If you're not familiar with Deutsch Nepal and like industrial and ambient music, take a listen to this release. I first heard them on XM Radio back when they had a killer industrial show on Sunday nights on their punk channel, now defunct.
Wikipedia:
Under the name Deutsch Nepal, Lina has issued eight studio albums and a 7" as well as contributing to various compilations including a split CD with In Slaughter Natives and another with The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud. Other works include two tapes out on the Italian label, Old Europa Cafe, entitled Only Silence Among The Filthy and The Silent Earth. There's also a single called Dentist Environmental on Ant-Zen, as well as the The Very Top Of Lina Baby Doll LP.
From Steinklang Records website:
Deutsch Nepal's Dystopian Partycollection contain previously released material from compilations and limited edited vinyls. It is not to be seen as a major release from Deutsch Nepal but a small shop of horrors where everyone could shoplift whenever in the spirit. Quality and atmosphere is different from track to track as there is no theme or secret path to follow on this album - It's plain Deutsch Nepal - Just as we love it! So just C´mon get naked... remember nude improvised dancing is not only for fun it´s also for free! This is Deutsch Nepal's Dystopian Partycollection to be followed by many more sad experiences in your poor and empty lives... Tracks are compiled from following releases: - Heilige Feuer by Der Angriff - Russia 2001 - 10” vinyl by WKN - Austria -2003 - Flowers Made of Snow by Cold Meat Industry - Sweden - 2005 - A Rainy November Day in Wroclaw compilationby Ars Benevola Mater - Italy - 2004 - Death Odours II by Slaughter Productions - Italy - 1997 - 1-sided LP vinyl by Extremocidente Records- Portugal - 2004 - 3A4ИCTКA - Fuck the Modern World by Autarkeia Organisation - Lituania - 2005

CHRISTIE FRONT DRIVE Anthology 1997
Wikipedia:
The band released a self-titled EP and a 7" on Freewill Records in 1994. The two Freewill Records albums and several 7" were later combined and released as a self-titled full length album (commonly referred to as "Anthology"). In 1995, Christie Front Drive released split records with Jimmy Eat World, Sineater, and Boys Life. They also contributed to several compilation albums including (Don't Forget To) Breathe from Crank! Records. The band broke up in 1997 and their only official full length, a self-titled album commonly called "Stereo," was released posthumously by Caulfield Records.
Despite their short tenure, Christie Front Drive became a major influence on emo music in the 90's. Richter resurfaced in the bands Antarctica, The 101, and Golden City, and both Marschall and Begin went on to form The Blue Ontario. Marschall was also credited as an engineer on the The Apples in Stereo's album, The Discovery of a World Inside the Moone. Jason Begin is currently performing under the name This Body as well as the Portland based band Pireate Radio Deluxe and the random appearance with Modernstate.
Christie Front Drive reunited on September 1, 2007 at the Marquis Theater in Denver as part of DenverFest III. All four original members participated.

BURN s/t 1990
Earlier hardcore Revelation Records style.
From Revelation Records:
Formed by Gavin Van Vlack (Side By Side, Absolution and later Die 116 and Pry), Alan Cage (Beyond and later Quicksand), Alex Napack (Pressure Release) and Chaka Harris (later Orange 9mm), Burn set out to create something new and more interesting than the preexisting sound of late 80's New York Hardcore. Burn released their self-titled debut on Revelation Records in 1990 which today still stands as one of the most innovative, powerful hardcore records. Burn is like a forefather, serving as the inspiration to many bands to follow both in and outside of hardcore.

HIS HERO IS GONE 15 Counts of Arson
From Epitonic:
Yes, they're from Memphis, Tennessee, but don't expect any Elvis imitators; His Hero Is Gone's songs are powerfully incendiary blitzkriegs of fierce anti-authoritarian, anti-racist, anti-consumerist rage. This band harnesses a hardcore metal pathos that rivals Neurosis and Napalm Death, and like those bands, His Hero Is Gone's music serves as a vehicle for searing, declamatory, far-left social commentary. The music is brooding, primitive and, at times, almost crushingly heavy; the songs range from sluggishly slow to blurry fast, and they are short, incisive, and unapologetically caustic. Guitarist Todd Burdette does the primary roaring and decrying while his brother Paul pounds out propulsive drum rhythms, Carl Auge supplies the epic bass lines and handles the rest of the vocals, and Yannick Lorrain plays a searing razor-edged second guitar.
